I was planning on taking the girls to the park today, but our friends couldn't make it, so I took the girls to Target instead. Luckily, I hadn't told the girls of my plans so it was easy to back out. We wandered around Target looking for the right pictures frames for a couple of pieces of Abby's artwork. I found what I was looking for and Abby was excited to frame her pics! Although, I think she was more excited to find the red glitter shoes she so loves. She got her first pair as a gift for her third birthday from her bff Jordan and has had to have a new pair every time she outgrows them. She loves them. I am worried about the day they no longer make them in her size! Tried to find a pair of tennis shoes for Mckenzie since it will be getting cold soon and sandals won't work anymore, but her little feet are still so chubby. I tried several different sizes and every time she said "tight" with a frown on her face. Maybe I can just put socks on with her sandals! I took the girls to Chick fil A for lunch and some playtime. The girls found new friends to play with and couldn't get enough of the slide. Abby and I played school and with Lego's while Mckenzie took a short nap. I forgot to buy insecticide for all these spiders we have hanging around our yard when we were at Target so I decided to brave Walmart. BIG MISTAKE!!! The store is filthy and just nasty. Needless to say, it was as quick a trip as I could make it. If we hadn't walked past the toys, we would have been out of there faster. Even Abby noticed how gross the store was. Well, maybe she heard me freak out over how nasty the floor was when Mckenzie started to throw a temper tantrum, dropped bearie on the floor and laid down on the floor. I seriously wish there was a decontamination station as you exit that store. I remember now why I drive farther just to go to Target. I bought some spot cleaner for the carpet and for the couch today. The couch looks great, although I pretty much cleaned the entire couch so it wasn't really a spot clean. The carpet isn't as bad as the couch. Just a few little spots here and there, but I could only do the living room as the kids were playing in the family room. At least that floor looks new again. I can't stand having little spots pop up on the carpets. When Scott got home, we headed out to eat. We ordered pasta with butter for the girls and I think they misheard us. It came out butter with a small side of pasta. I soaked three napkins with the extra butter on that pasta! Got the girls ice cream for a snack and came home to get them to bed. We still haven't heard the official word on Scott's deployment. We are hopeful it will only be 60 days instead of 120. I just wish we would find out soon so we can make some plans for this fall. I never got around to taking any pics today. I am sure I will have plenty tomorrow though as we are going to see the Wiggles! The girls are going to be so excited! I can't wait to see their faces!!!!

Abby got up with Scott this morning and she headed downstairs and had breakfast with him. I didn't even realize she was awake until I got up about 45 minutes after Scott left. She was content to watch Nick Jr and eat her breakfast. Mckenzie got up shortly after I did and was ready to play! The girls were great while I cleaned the house and did many loads of laundry today. Only a few tantrums, usually when I was on the phone, but overall they behaved well. It was fun to watch them play with the Cars together, crashing into one another and chasing each other. I love that Mckenzie is getting to the age she can play by herself for a little while too. She worked on some puzzles by herself and when she had trouble, Abby helped her out! Abby played with her barbies and practiced ballet during Mckenzie's nap time. She really seems interested in ballet and I am thinking of enrolling her in a class. Not sure though if I want to continue with gymnastics and add ballet or just do ballet. After nap, the we played outside. Abby and I played baseball while Mckenzie played with her dolls. The girls also rode their bike/trikes. Abby was so excited she make a u-turn on her bike without getting off. She has been working on that for awhile now and she was so proud of herself for finally doing it. Mckenzie is trying hard to peddle her trike on her own. She got so mad when she couldn't do it all by herself. She gets a little distance and then can't go any farther. I am not sure if she got more mad that she couldn't do it or that I tried pushing the trike when she couldn't. Scott came home and the girls played with him while I got dinner going. I feel so domestic today, cleaning, laundry, cooking, watching the kids... After dinner the kids and Scott played a little Wii. Abby still gets super excited when she gets a strike! Scott gave the girls a bath and I managed to get all the girls' clothes folded and put away. Scott took a video of Abby wishing on a star out our bedroom window. She wished for a star and a mailbox just for her and Mckenzie. Then both girls laughed like crazy watching themselves on the video. I wish I could have had a video of them watching themselves. Their giggles were so genuine and happy. I loved it!  The girls are in bed now, but I can still hear Mckenzie banging her feet into the side of her crib. She has started talking to herself and playing for quite some time before falling asleep at night. At least she is happy doing it and doesn't cry or try to get out of her crib (that I know of anyway)!

We took Dakota to the vet to get her kennel cough vaccine today as we are going to Washington, D.C next week! Yeah! A mini vacation! It is so hard to get that dog and two kids into the vet's office and to top it off there was another dog in the waiting area that wanted to bark at Dakota and play with her! Dakota is so strong and I could hardly hold onto her once she saw that other dog. The visit lasted literally 2 minutes and since we didn't even leave the waiting area, I started to leave without paying! Thankfully, the receptionist politely reminded me to pay! Needless to say, I was embarrassed! We brought the dog back home and then ran errands. The girls were good and didn't pitch a fit when I said they couldn't have Chick fil A. We came home, had lunch and then the girls played together before Mckenzie's nap. They were playing dog again today. At least Abby was dog for part of the time and not just Mckenzie. After nap, the girls went swimming out back. The wasps are finally gone and we can enjoy our backyard again! They had a blast and of course, they ended up getting out the water hose to replenish all the water they dumped out. They played together so well today, although they were a bit mischievous at times. I told them we needed to turn off the hose and neither one was too happy about that. I saw Abby and Mckenzie whispering and then Mckenzie ran over to the water faucet. She stopped when she got close and there was Abby, cheering her on to turn on the water. Silly girls! I can see trouble with those two in the future! We finished swimming and came in for a bath. Scott came home and we had dinner. It was fun to watch the girls play with Scott tonight. He gets the biggest laughs out of both of them. I love to listen while they play.

I finally tackled the 'junk' closet that has been a place to throw all the stuff I don't know what to do with and the kids cooperated while I did it! I feel so accomplished today. I even got a start on our closet, but I got held up going through all the old baby clothes I still have. I was going to get them sorted and on Craig's list, but I quit after I discovered two more large bags after sorting through two huge bins. I couldn't take it. Way too memories and it makes me so sad to get rid of all the girls' things. It is like closing the chapter on having more little ones. I know we are most likely done (99% sure) but selling everything is so final. Maybe tomorrow I will finish...

The girls were very well behaved for the most part today. Especially considering we stayed inside all day and they had to entertain themselves for quite some time while I organized stuff around here. Abby had another great day of sharing. I hope this means she is turning a corner. Now just to get Mckenzie to stop pouting or screaming when she has to share!  Abby was so cute this morning. She crawled in next to me in bed this morning and whispered into my ear that she got dressed already because she was too warm in her pj's. The dress she chose, by the way, was the same dress she refused to wear yesterday because she didn't like it. Amazing how quickly her mind changes! Mckenzie's eye is looking almost 100% these days. There is just one spot I am worried about (not infection wise, just cosmetic wise) that Scott tells me will improve. I hope he is right! The girls had a blast playing on the sit and spin Scott bought the girls last night and only fell off a couple of times. I didn't get around to taking any pictures today. Maybe tomorrow.

Abby ended up in our room last night, complaining she was stuffy. Happens every time I have the fan on in her room and the windows open. Should have known better. But, she slept just fine on her princess couch on our floor. Mckenzie ended up in our bed this morning too. We really need a bigger bed. It is way too cozy for all of us. We put Mckenzie down for an early nap so we could run errands this afternoon. Abby and Scott went for a bike ride/run. Abby had a great time and she was so excited to tell me about how fast she went around the corners. We all ran to Target after finding out the car dealerships weren't open on Sundays. I think we are getting the car bug. Even Abby. She tells us she wants a red car or sometimes a purple one. She was very sad we couldn't get out of the car to look around at all the new cars at the one lot that wasn't locked because it was raining. We headed to Target and then out for dinner. We came home and the girls played with a Sit and Spin Scott bought for the girls. Abby did great taking turns with Mckenzie and showing her how to use it. Mckenzie was pretty good about sharing too. She threw a couple of little fits, but I think she finally realized that Abby was going to keep giving her turns. Got the girls to bed and I am so excited I don't have to get up with Mckenzie tonight. Well, at least to give her the antibiotic that is. I am sure she will wake me up for some other reason!

What a lazy Saturday. We didn't do much of anything all day. It was pretty cool here today, so we opened all the windows. I do enjoy being able to open the windows without all the humidity, but I wasn't expecting it so soon. September, sure. Not August. Abby had fun playing with my old jacks today. She isn't that coordinated yet, but I don't expect many kids are the first time they play. She had such big laughs when playing. She didn't even get mad that she lost! We took the girls for a bike/trike ride after nap. Mckenzie didn't ride her trike very long, preferring instead to walk alongside while Scott pushed it. Abby told me she wanted to take her training wheels off. She's getting better, I just don't think she is ready for that yet. The girls played at the park for awhile and then we walked the track around the park. It was a great time, but it was getting a little cold. The girls both had on sleeveless dresses and I wish I had brought a jacket with for them. Maybe one for me too. Scott was the only one that wasn't cold; he even said he was hot. Scott gave the girls a bath while I ran to the store to pick up some buns so we could have grilled chicken sandwiches. Very tasty, even though I seem to have gotten Scott's spicy chicken. It has been strange around here today. Both Scott and Abby ended up with spicy bacon for breakfast (how does that happen) and my chicken was spicy while Scott's wasn't. Things that make you go hmmmm.

The girls and I headed to the park this morning. Abby is getting so good at the monkey bars! She made it across all by herself with ease. I love seeing her progress! Mckenzie wanted to swing, making sure to say swing over and over. We left the park to go to Abby's friend's house. The kids had a great time playing together. We headed home for lunch and nap time. Mckenzie has started saying OK. It is hilarious the way she says it. OHHHHH.... pause K. She is also starting to speak in sentences! Yeah Mckenzie! Scott came home and grilled some burgers for us and we had corn on the cob too. Tasty. Might have been a little better with hamburger buns, but the lady at the commissary didn't give the bag with them to Scott. Oh well. Got the house picked up and played with the girls before bed.

The girls and I headed to the mall today to get Scott an iPhone. His old phone is a piece of junk and the store got some in today so we went to get one. I couldn't believe how many people were in there buying phones. We walked around the mall for awhile and I ended up getting some really cute clothes for the girls at 77 and then we had some lunch before heading back home. Put Mckenzie down for a nap and Abby and I read some books before relaxing awhile. Abby had fun stacking all the couch cushions and jumping off. When I finally woke Mckenzie up from her nap, we built a fort out of the cushions. At least I thought I was building a fort. Turns out the girls decided it was a jail. They were playing with Lightning McQueen and the Sheriff cars and turned the fort into a jail. Silly girls. I had a meeting for Abby's preschool tonight. Abby didn't want me to go and was clinging to me tighter than when I used to drop her off at day care. At least she didn't cry! The meeting ran long so I didn't get to see the girls before bed. I love that most nights I get to kiss them good night.

We had gymnastics this morning, but for once, it didn't feel like we were rushing to get there on time. Abby had a great time and came out of the gym with a big smile on her face. Only two weeks left. I think I am going to look for a different gym once school starts. Just not a big fan of this one. Abby's teacher seems to be good, but just the overall feeling of the gym isn't right for us. Mckenzie was a little bored today while we waited for Abby even though I brought lots of toys for her today. I need to look into getting her started in some kind of activity as well. We came home and Abby wanted to play outside, but it was so humid I didn't feel like it. We played inside until lunch, with only a few minor battles over the new toys in the house. During Mckenzie's nap, Abby and I watched a movie again. Today we both ended up asleep! Mckenzie's nap ran long and we only got a little time to play outside before Scott came home from work. The girls had fun riding bike/trike together. Mckenzie preferred to walk along side her trike while I pushed it.
