Mckenzie and I went pumpkin picking with her class this morning. She skipped over all the little pumpkins in search of the perfect big one. She finally found it and was excited that it had a big stem too. She tried carrying it, but decided it was too big for her and ask me to carry it for her.
The kids were all given apple cider and an apple cider donut after the tractor brought us back from the field. Mckenzie took one bite of her donut and decided she didn't like it :( Don't worry folks. I didn't let it go to waste!
I made some play dough for the girls to play with this afternoon. Abby had a great time using the dough to practice her spelling words. Mckenzie "practiced" hers as well.
We got up early and headed to NYC. We have never visited Central Park and I have always wanted to walk through when the leaves are changing. Unfortunately, the trees were still green, but it was a great experience nonetheless :). The girls really enjoyed climbing on all the rocks and playing in the playgrounds throughout the park. Every time we passed a rock, Abby wanted to climb it. It didn't matter if it was big or small, she just wanted to climb. We took the girls on the carousel in the park. As far as rides go, it has to be the longest one we have ever been on. The girls loved it! We stopped for lunch and it just happened to be next to a statue of Christopher Columbus. Appropriate as today is Columbus day :) Mckenzie wanted to chase the pigeons that crowded around us waiting for a crumb or two to drop. I'm not sure what it is with her and birds, but she has always loved chasing them. There were many entertainers in the park. The biggest hit for the girls was a guy that made humongous bubbles that you could step into. They also enjoyed watching a group of guys doing flips. We passed a parade and stopped to watch for a bit. We took a taxi back to the train station. The guy was a CRAZY driver and almost hit a guy on a bike. But, we made it safely and it was better than walking any more as the kiddos had hit their limit :)
And yes, I was there too :)
My most favorite picture of the day. I was trying to get one of Abby and Mckenzie jumped into the frame. She is such a goofball!!!!
Soccer and yard work made for a busy day. Well, at least for Scott. I helped rake a few leaves, but he did most of the work. My job was to make sure the couch didn't move and somehow I fell asleep doing so :) We went to dinner and afterwards we checked out a baby store. Abby was very disappointed we didn't buy anything for the baby.
The girls went to a birthday party for a friend this afternoon. It was a glow in the dark party at a place with a bunch of inflatables. I think the biggest hit was the huge slide :)
Mckenzie likes to make wishes on dandelions. It is hard for her to pass one by without picking it and blowing it. I wonder if she actually makes a wish while she is blowing all the seeds away...
It started sprinkling during Abby's soccer practice tonight. She thought it was so cool that she got to play in the rain. That is until it started raining hard and then she was running for the car :)
The girls and I played outside this afternoon. They enjoyed running through the leaves and riding bikes/scooters. Abby refused to ride her big girl bike and instead, rode her sister's trike. I'm not sure why she is afraid to ride her bike, but she wants nothing to do with it. The irrigation guy came to winterize the sprinkler system today and the girls had a blast running through the water as he emptied the sprinkler lines.
Can you believe she asked me to take her picture???? I was in shock!!!
