Happy Sweet 7 Abby!

I wanted to surprise Abby by covering her doorway with streamers, but instead, she surprised me by showing up before six asking if it was time to get up. Maybe next year I will be more successful. I can't believe our first born is already 7! I look at her and the traces of baby are all gone. No more rolls or chubby fingers or chubby cheeks. Instead, those are replaced by muscles and cheekbones. She reads chapter books to me instead of me reading her board books. I love where she is at now, I just enjoy reminiscing about the days before. I asked her a few of her favorite things tonight after I told her the story of her birth. (I love how she fills in parts of the story now that she has heard it so many times before.)

She picked out her birthday cake when we were in the store yesterday and it looked so tasty! Chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting with chocolate sprinkles. YUM! Unfortunately, it looked way better than it actually tasted. Needless to say, it found it's way into the trash can :(  Luckily, dinner wasn't a bust. A friend brought Abby chicken wings for dinner. Somehow she managed to eat six of them! Abby is like her daddy and enjoys her spicy food!

  1. Happy birthday Abby! How sad that a cake with such potential didn't taste good. If you ever want a make-up cake, I have a delicious recipe for peanut butter frosting. It's really easy, and it's so good I could eat a bowl of it with a spoon. :)

And the Eagles may not lose for much longer with Chip Kelly at the helm. . .

  2. Peanut butter frosting—just butter, peanut butter (I use Jif), powdered sugar, and milk. The chocolate zucchini cake in the recipe is great, too! http://www.bhg.com/recipe/cupcakes/choco-zucchini-cupcakes/
