Mckenzie changed her routine this morning. Instead of shouting "MAMA" at the top of her lungs, she chouted "DADA". It was music to my ears! I think Scott was pretty happy too! As I was getting ready for the day, Abby was hanging out in the bathroom with me asking a million questions. One thing she said was "Why do I talk so many questions? I don't know, I guess I just like to talk!" Then just just kept on talking. We went out for a playdate today. Abby and Mckenzie both had a great time and so did I. Abby of course, invited herself over to go swimming in their pool. Gotta love kids. If they want it,they are shy about saying so. Then we headed to Chick-fil-A for a treat and some playtime as it was raining outside. There unfortunately there was a little BRAT in the playground that kept being mean to all the kids and the mom was less than proactive. She would go into the play area and tell her kid not to do it and make her apologize, but she let the little girl keep playing. One, two times, ok, but this was like 7-8 times she said or did something mean. We met up with some friends from Charleston for dinner tonight and had a great time. It was so nice to see familiar faces and have a relaxed, comfortable evening. No pretenses, just good food and good times with some old friends. Unfortunately they will be moving very soon :( Got the girls to bed and now I am headed there as well.

No school today, so we hung out in our pjs til lunch! I love days like this, just hanging out and playing with the girls. Gave the girls marshmallows for a treat and Mckenzie gobbled hers up and came asking for "mo mo". Gave her a few more; little did I know she needed more to feed the dog. I caught her sitting on the floor, feeding Dakota the rest of her snack.  Abby was in quite the mood today. When Scott got home, she didn't want him looking at her. I have no idea what that was about, but she got over it in due time. Maybe it is just a precursor to the future... I had to work on some fundraising stuff for Abby's school today and Mckenzie kept shutting the computer off. I would rather pay more for preschool than have to do all this "volunteer" stuff. I have no idea why it's called volunteer work when I have no choice but to do it.  I went to a spouses club meeting for Scott's squadron tonight. I have only been to a handful of them in the 10 years we have been in the Air Force, but I need something to get me out of the house. It was a this great little restaurant that is known for their grilled cheese sandwiches and ice cream bar. They also serve breakfast and kids eat free on Saturdays if they are wearing their pjs, so maybe the whole family will have to check it out. The girls would get a kick out of leaving the house in their pj's. Scott brought me some beautiful daisies (my fav) today for no reason~what a sweetie. I love fresh flowers in the house, it makes it feel like spring! I guess I will keep him around for 10 more years if he'll have me ;)

Both girls were up early again today. I heard Mckenzie shout "MAMA" but Scott got her so I could sleep a little longer :) He was up anyway so it worked out well. Abby was up shortly after that, ready to go to school. She did great again today when I dropped her off. She saw her friend Ally and they stood in line together and went into class together. I don't think Abby even heard me say goodbye! I am so glad she is adjusting to this new classroom; it makes it so much easier to drop her off!
Mckenzie and I headed to the post office (sorry your b-day will be late Laurie) and then we went to a MOMs club meeting. It was our first visit and it was quite nice. All the moms were really nice and I wasn't the only new one there so that helped too. Mckenzie was really shy and kept clinging to my legs. The kids got to play with a big parachute and Mckenzie seemed to enjoy that.  They also did bubble and Mckenzie stood and watched while all the other kids chased them. She finally bent down to touch one, but it popped before she could touch it. We came home and it was lunch time (I think Mckenzie is going through a grow spurt; she ate all the noodles from a can of soup. She tried to drink a little of the broth, failing miserably and soaking her pants and shirt!) and then naptime.
Picked up Abby from school and she told me about making something in chef class with eggs, sugar, and milk. She wasn't sure what she made so it remains a mystery... She enjoyed her day and asked when she could go back.
A quick trip to Target, yes I said Target. I know I put myself on probation from that store, but I didn't even break a $50. Besides, Abby needed some mouthwash. Where else could I possibly buy that? I think Abby asked at least 100 questions while we were in Target. Everything item we passed, she would ask if we had it.  We went buy the Easter aisle and it changed from questions to I would really like this. Every toy she picked up, she said " I would like to have this."  She didn't forget her sister either. She asked if we could buy a number of toys/candy for Mckenzie as well. At least she is thoughtful!  On the way home, Abby asked if we could go to Chick-fil-A for dinner. I said no, but she kept saying she wanted to go to a restaurant. So when we got home, Scott was already there and the first thing she asked him was if we could go to a restaurant. So, we ended up at this diner where the average age had to have been seventy five. Seriously. If you added up all of our ages, we still would be younger than the people in there. That said, it was a pretty good diner and it was cheap! We got salad, bread, soup, a meal, and ice cream for $10. The girls just loved the ice cream and the sugar high kicked in just a few minutes after. Mckenzie was out of her high chair, running from one side of the table to the other, shouting "HI" with a big grin on her face.

Another gorgeous day out today! The girls and I spent as much time outside as possible. We went to the park this morning and both girls got so excited to be there. I love their little squeals! Abby did much better swinging, but still needs a boost now and then. We have all summer to work on that. Mckenzie had a blast on the slide and even had to bring her sippy cup along for the ride. She looked so cute sliding down holding on so tight to her cup and a big grin on her face.  The girls painted while I made them lunch. Abby kept saying, "I'm gonna send this one to Jordan." Jordan is her friend from Florida and she loves to make pictures for her. Abby and I played outside during Mckenzie's nap. We played fetch with Dakota and the poor thing was so worn out, but kept coming back for more! Mckenzie joined us outside after her nap and had fun playing with a plastic golf club and her car. When Scott got home, we went for a walk. Abby and Mckenzie got to ride in Abby's jeep. I think they both really enjoyed that. Abby's driving skills have deteriorated over the winter as well so I guess we will be brushing back up on those as well! I was putting Mckenzie to bed after Scott gave the girls a bath and she always snuggles in real close to me the looks at Scott and waves to him while saying "bye".

Mckenzie decided to wake us up at 6 this morning. I tried to make her go back to sleep, but she would have none of that. She did lay on me for awhile, but she would keep looking at me and smiling. So sweet! Abby didn't wake up until Scott was leaving for work and she got upset over not getting to see him this morning. So I let her pout on the stairs while I got ready and finally she got over it when I asked her if she wanted to get dressed for school on the staircase. She loved that idea, saying "this is just for special!" Abby did great when I dropped her off at school, running into her class while saying "HI MRS. SHARPE!!!!" Scott said when he picked her up, they were flying handmade kites outside. Looks like she made a new friend today, because Scott said Abby made a special point to say goodbye to JP. I am so happy for her!

The kids got to play in the backyard today as most of the snow is finally gone! What little bit was left, Abby and Mckenzie had fun throwing at the trees and me! We went for a quick walk around the neighborhood and stopped by the playground. Abby was swinging all by herself today! Yeah!!!

Mckenzie has learned she has pockets on her pants and tries to fit her pudgy little hands into them. Then she walks around with her hands in her pockets and a big smile on her face. She loves to smile, especially when she knows she is doing something wrong like standing on the ottoman or walking on the edge of the couch. She is so mischievous and when you tell her no, she goes right back to it. Tonight Scott set her down when she kept walking on the couch. He must have broken her heart because she covered her face with her hands and buried her head into her lap.

Abby is up in her room, supposed to be going to bed, but I can still hear her little voice talking up a storm. I wish I could see what she is doing...

What a beautiful day! We took the girls on a walk and stopped at a neighborhood park. They were both so excited to be out of the house for a change. When we got close to the playground both girls screamed and Mckenzie couldn't get out of the stroller fast enough! Abby ran straight to the swings and Mckenzie followed suit. The smile on their faces was unbelievable! I love seeing them both so happy! Abby had trouble with the swing which surprised both Scott and I as she was so proficient at it before we left Pace. Hopefully it is like riding a bike and it won't be too long before she can swing on her own again. She was starting to get it, but still needed a lot of help. Poor Mckenzie got to go down on the slide all by herself. Scott thought I was watching her and I thought he was. Needless to say, she went down the slide headfirst. Thankfully it was a gentle landing (she landed with her hands and not her head) and she wasn't afraid to go down again! Tonight was bath night and Scott just mentioned the word bath and a few minutes later, Abby was running around upstairs with all her clothes off! We weren't even ready to give them baths, but whatever. That just meant they got to go to bed a little earlier too!

I was working on photo books for the girls (I think I may have given up on scrapbooking) and I thought I needed to order them today in order to use my coupon. Well, I worked all day on those books and I went to look at my coupon again and it doesn't expire for a couple of more days! At least now I can look them over again and make sure they are just right before I order them :)

It was a quiet Saturday around here. We hung out and played most of the day. Abby picked out her own clothes today and it was quite the combination. She had on a red Wiggles t-shirt with a brown skirt with pink polka dots and gray and white striped leggings. I should have gotten a picture, but we were too busy arguing over what shoes she could wear. She wanted to wear a pair of sandals and I didn't think that was the greatest idea considering it was only in the 50's.  I didn't even suspect we were going to have a problem picking out shoes because Abby had come to me and said so excitedly "Momma, the snow is gone! Now I can wear my pretty shoes!". I agreed because "pretty shoes" has always meant her sparkly dress shoes. If she wanted to wear them today, that was fine by me. Unfortunately, she started digging through her shoes and decided a pair of pink beach sandals would be a much better choice. After much negotiation, we settled on a much more winter appropriate pair of shoes. 
We headed to the furniture store to pick up our tv stand for the guest bedroom. Scott and I both had intentions of coming home and eating leftovers for dinner, but once we were out, we both knew we would be eating out somewhere. We decided on Hooters as wings sounded good. It was a big mistake. They were the greasiest wings I have ever eaten. They were just sitting in a pool of nastiness. The manager was going from table to table asking how things were. Scott just asked him if it was normal to be so greasy and he basically said yes. The sauce I picked was 60% butter! GROSS! If never would have ordered them if I had known that. 
We got home and Mckenzie told me she had to use the potty. Cute thing was, she grabbed her book to take to the potty with her! If we can get Mckenzie to learn how to undress herself, I think we can give this potty training a serious try. I would love to have her out of diapers by 2!

I didn't take any pics of the girls today, but I did get a picture of Dakota on the couch last night. We never let her on any of the furniture, but she looked so sad last night that I caved in and let her up. She just loved it and snuggled on it like she had always slept there.

We ran to the grocery store for some milk and since the grocery store is right next to Target, we had to stop there too! Scott did need some socks so it wasn't exactly an unnessecary trip... And a bonus is I bought Abby a new game so I don't have to play Candyland as often!!!! That is always a good thing. The Curious George game she picked out was actually kind of fun! I took the girls to Chick-fil-A for lunch. They just love to play there. Well, Abby loves to play and Mckenzie just wanders around.  When we got home Abby just had to sit on the bench outside and have her picture taken again. After naptime, the girls had popsicles. It was so cute to watch them eat. Mckenzie licks her slowly (thank God for the slow melt popsicles) and Abby takes big bites out of hers. Interesting how they are so different.  I don't know how the house got so messy today, but I swear every toy the girls own was strewn across the family room floor. I should have taken a picture. I am not even sure if you would have seen the carpet. 

For some reason, I couldn't get a picture of Abby with her eyes open today. Silly Abby!

I decided that I had better clean the house since the maid has yet to show up :(   Fortunately, Abby was a great helper. She played with Mckenzie to keep her entertained (although they had their typical fights over toys) and she even picked up her own room. The best part though, was how excited Abby was to vacuum the family room. She kept begging me to let her do it and I figured why not.  I just loved how much she wanted to do it and how proud of herself she was for doing it. Granted it wasn't the best job ever, but I think half the problem is the vacuum itself.  I really want a new vacuum, one that will get rid of all the dog hair. Did a little research on the Dyson vacuums and they sound pretty impressive so hopefully one day soon I will get one!

It was a beautiful day out today, right around 50 degrees! I can feel Spring in the air and I can't wait. I just love spring and the way it smells so fresh and new. I think the kids are itching to get outside again too.

Oh, lately Abby has been eating breakfast with Scott before he leaves for work. They have been doing this in the family room so Scott can watch tv.  They both know they aren't supposed to be eating breakfast in there (Scott's rule when we moved in here because the carpets are so light colored.) So, Scott told Abby not to tell me what they had been doing, but she blurted it out to me without even hesitating when I asked her about it. I probably wouldn't have known, except they leave Abby's dishes on the ottoman every day!

Today Abby did so amazing when I dropped her off at school. She said hello to Mrs. Sharpe and went right in the classroom. YAY!!! I guess I should have bribed her with an extra star for her rewards chart sooner.  She brought her Hello Kitty stuffed animal with her for show and tell and left lambie at home. I couldn't believe she didn't want to take lambie with her. She hasn't been needing her as much. Lately, I have noticed lambie will spend a good portion of the day strewn across Abby's bed. My little girl is growing up! Now, if only we could break that thumb sucking habit.  Any suggestions? Abby got to make green eggs and ham in her chef class today. She was so excited to tell me all about them when I picked her up, that is until I asked her how they tasted. She disappointedly said "just like eggs."  She asked if we were having green eggs for dinner. Unfortunately, we couldn't as I didn't have any food coloring. Maybe I should pick some up next time I am at the store.  Mckenzie and I ran to Target to pick up some dog food, which I forgot to get the first time I checked out. Yep, I made it all the way to the car after making my purchases and realized I had forgotten to buy the one thing I really needed. I found some cute clothes for the girls and lotion for myself, all things we don't really need.  So we turned around and went back in. I guess it wouldn't have been that big a deal if I never bought dog food again. That dog always seems to get enough from the kiddos. Mckenzie and I came home, read some books, did a little coloring, had some lunch, and finally naptime!

Scott gave the kids a bath and put them to bed tonight. Abby was begging Scott to let her stay up a little later, but she finally caved and went to bed. I am sure her wanting to do that had nothing to do with me letting her stay up a little later while Scott was gone. Shhhh, don't tell Scott ;)  I had to go to a meeting for Abby's preschool this evening and it wasn't as bad as I had thought it would be. It is really hard coming into a school in the middle of the year that is so dependent on parent involvement. I have no idea what is going on or when I am supposed to be doing it.  I did find out that the morning class for next year is already full, so Abby will have to be wait-listed for that. There is plenty of room in the afternoon class though, so we won't have to find a different school. I really hope she can get into the morning class. I think she is more attentive and would get so much more from it. I talked to her teacher for awhile and it seems as though Abby is really starting to get into a groove at the school.  She also commented on Abby's laugh. Abby has the sweetest, most infectious laugh ever. It just makes me smile whenever I think about it.
